DATES:
Tuesday, October 19 at 7 PM candidates running for Seat 5
Thursday, October 21 at 7 PM candidates running for Seat 1
LOCATION:
Eastside Baptist Church – 204 Eastland Drive North, Twin Falls, ID
Both forums are open to the public. Each forum will be set up in two parts. In the first part, candidates will address three prepared questions (see below). In the second part, the attendees will be given an opportunity to submit questions in writing for candidates to respond.
Prepared questions:
- With respect to the welfare of all people in the city of Twin Falls, and knowing the complexity of how to address the nationwide controversy of abortion. On average 175 babies are aborted in the city of Twin Falls (Idaho Department of Health and Welfare). Public safety is a matter of interest for everyone who enters our city. We want to know if you would support a plan from our city to speak out for the children in the womb who are in danger? Please explain.
- With respect to the diversity of people in our beloved city, we want to hear how you would address the liberty of all while considering public use of city property. How would you help our city uphold decency laws in public parks/buildings while respecting the vast differences of opinions? (Note: PRIDE events at the City Park this past year displayed men dressed in costume – wearing women’s clothing – while performing sexually charged dances while children were present. The current city council has a video copy of the event.)
- With respect to public health issues; How will you help protect local churches from being restricted from meeting or how we meet? What are your positions regarding mandated face coverings and vaccines? How would you protect churches from government overreach?
Be sure to invite someone to attend the only in-person candidate forums for the City of Twin Falls – City Council Seats 5 and 1.
