“Were they ashamed because of the abomination they had done?
They certainly were not ashamed,
And they did not know how to blush;
Therefore they shall fall among those who fall;
At the time of their punishment they shall be brought down,”
Says the LORD.” Jeremiah 8:12
Is there any subject off limits from public discussion any longer? And when it is necessary to speak to a matter that is rarely talked about and likely should rarely be talked about in public hardly anyone blushes.
Look at your social media feed… no, really. Take a minute and go look.
Do we know how to blush anymore? There is hardly a subject off limits. Have we lost all sense of modesty of speech?
Do you give any consideration at all about the source of the video you share? Did you notice the language used that we once would say would even make a sailor blush? The side-bar advertisements unashamedly are inviting you to take a look, the headlines are calling to your flesh to awaken from the dead state of being crucified with Christ and rule your heart once again.
Look! Again! how often are you liking, laughing, reposting the offenses of God.
‘This wicked people, who refuse to listen to My words, who walk in the stubbornness of their hearts and have gone after other gods to serve them and to bow down to them, let them be just like this waistband which is totally worthless. ‘For as the waistband clings to the waist of a man, so I made the whole household of Israel and the whole household of Judah cling to Me,’ declares the LORD, ‘that they might be for Me a people, for renown, for praise and for glory; but they did not listen.’ (Jeremiah 13:10-11)
“I will not show pity nor be sorry nor have compassion so as not to destroy them.” (Jeremiah 13:14)
The problem is not the wickedness of the world, the problem is that God’s consecrated people are rarely different from the wicked.
Ah Lord God, Is there no balm, is there no physician to heal our fallen broken souls?
Return to God.
